Founded in 2014, the Playsical Players proudly provides theater classes for students of Waubesa Intermediate School in McFarland, Wisconsin. Classes are held after school in the multipurpose room.
We hold four sessions per year with at least 12 classes per session.
Each session culminates in a musical production with sets, props, and costumes, featuring the entire class in an ensemble cast.
Our mission at Playsical is provide children with a safe, supportive environment in which their individuality is celebrated. Each Playsical Player learns about acting and performing on stage but more important is the special, one-on-one attention we give teach student.
We encourage children to “try” and if what they try to do doesn’t work out the way they hoped, we celebrate the attempt. Failure is NOT a concept we acknowledge.
Parents report children who become Playsical Players not only have a great time, but also they emerge from the program with more self-confidence and an enhanced sense of self. More important than adults being proud of them is the fact that they are proud of themselves.
